Dragonflies at Arapahoe Library

Dragonfly Zentangle ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) came to the Denver library today.  About 42 kids ages 5-12 join me to create a fun project.

One cute little boy shared a true fact:  Dragonflies were around before the dinosaurs.

Before dinosaurs and birds came on the scene, dragonflies were king, with wingspans of about two and a half feet. That was 300 million years ago, during the late Paleozoic period. Despite all the changes that have taken place since then, dragonflies are still around.

While modern dragonflies have wingspans of about two to five inches, fossil dragonflies have been found with wingspans of up to two feet!

Snowy Denver Arapahoe Library for Zentangle

Another fun class at Arapahoe library in Denver, Colorado.  Thirty to fifty kids and I created a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) with a fun snowman for the season.  My Zoom class came from San Diego. We actually had a rainy day in San Diego which is very unusual for Southern California. I guess you could say it was "our snow day".

After learning four tangles (Keeko, Tipple, Bales, and Printemps), we added a little color to snowman scarf and called it a day after our hour-long class.

Thanks to Ashley and Kara for hosting a fun class for the kids. Happy tangling to all.

Next class at this library is 1/17/23.
