Today at February Zentangle Sunday Club Meeting, we shared thoughts of business, new ideas, tools and just tangled.  Enjoyable day with like minds 

San Diego Oasis Introduction to Zentangle class Feb 6th

San Diego Oasis is a group of many classes for 50 and over in San Diego CA area.

After the class you can see the smiles on their faces when they get the "ahha" moment of this interesting new art form today.   Good job ladies.

My favorite moment is when I put all 11 of my students first tile together in a mosaic

and they stare with amazing looks ...
all the same patterns but all different interpretation of instruction.

Football Play off Zentangle Class Sunday

Unfortunately, last week my Dad was introduced to Scipps Hospice.  During the first Doctor home visit,  the Doctor was intrigged with  my step mom's Zentangle tiles at their house  I  live next door to my Dad (I know, cool huh?) so they asked me to come over and tell her about Zentangle   

The doctor was interested and invited me to give an Introduction to Zentangle class at her home.  Nice little group,  her daughter and a couple of her friends.  Also attending was her daughter's two year old.  I never did a Zentangle class with a two year old attending.  She was so good.  Maybe the Zen wore off on her also.  Thanks to the standard poodle and miniature poodle there to entertainer and Apprentice pen (she used her arm as a tile).   Once again, four folks never heard of Zentangle and they were surprised how interesting it was.  Love that "aha" moment. 

 

And of course, being the class was in La Jolla, San Diego, we were only a couple hundred yards from the ocean, so I stopped to checkout the sunset before I headed home.

 

P.S.  What a fantastic playoff football game between Green Bay packers and Seattle Seahawks. (my husband taped the game and I got to watch the exciting ending to a "OMG, I can't believe Green Bay lost" game.   Wow.  Goooo Seahawks.   

 

 

 

 

 

Diva Challenge #200

 

Weekly Challenge #200: "Bi-Zen-Tennial Celebration!"
The weekly challenges have been motivating to try something new each week, see other tangle ideas and "speak Zentangle" together. 

Our challenge this week was to use our "Mac N  Cheese" pattern (your go to favorite tangle).  My tile this week is using Flux tangle to showing the love of Zentangle with a heart.  This little art form has changed my life and as I teach.... I see Zentangle changing others lives also.  Congratulations on #200 Diva Challenges.

We are going for 200 postings.  If you haven't done so...  post a favorite tangle and add 200 to your tile.  Almost there !!!

 

Zentangle Class January 11th, 2015

Good job new tanglers.  Nine students: three nurses, 3rd grade teacher from Washington State (my neice), my daughter, a grandmother, law firm executive, cancer survivor & her husband (who quoted a Shakespeare poem - very impressive).  Great group and great tangles !!!
