Today I'm back teaching a Zentangle class at the Kensington Library in San Diego. It is also EARTH DAY in the lawn area of the library. Should be lots of fun.
The nine participants in class will be working with three different pens to create a Faux Leather Bookmark. Using the tangles, Meer, Printemps, Inapod, Bateek, Ragz, Pinch, Fassett, and Yincut, we tangled our brown cardstock using black, brown, and white Gelly roll pens.
Spring has sprung and so has Kensington Library Zentangle class.
Our class today was working on gray tile, with black micron pen, white jelly roll, shading, and a bit of coloring.
Unfortunately, the library miss printed the date of class. For all those that showed up a week early I'm sorry for the inconvenience of your time. Two lucky participants joined me with this fun class with lots of technique and implements.
Tangles: Crescent Moon, Bales, Meer, Tipple, Knightsbridge, Printemps, Knase, Tentoculous,
Vega, Henna Drum, and Huggins.
The Rancho Santa Fe Library welcomed me back to share the Zentangle Art Method with twelve wide- eyed participants. The library is located 20 miles north of San Diego in a quaint little town.
Today in class I taught a basic Zentangle tile. Teaching the history, theory, philosophy in the way the co-founders design the art method. You don't get it till you do it.
Zentangle Art Method is a meditative art method that is easy to do and creates beautiful mages by drawing structured patterns. During the process you relax, get into a state of well-being- healing art-happy place.
A beautiful Saturday this afternoon at Kensington Library, San Diego, Calif.. This location is so class to the San Diego Zoo, thought we would tangle a Zebra for our Zentangle class today.
Ben Kwok created this outline for the class today. He has many coloring books with amazing outlines.
Our tangles today were: Keeko, Stripping, Onamato, Zander, Printemps, Knightsbridge, Jetties, Reticulated, Tipple, Barber Pole, Hollibaugh, Knase, and Zebra.
Nine of us enjoyed the time spent together learning some old and new tangles.
Fun Zebra facts:
Zebras are black with white stripes. This is because the black fur is the default color, and the white stripes are areas where pigment production is turned off. Zebra's sleep facing each other to watch for prey.
