Rules of Zentangle

The first rule is there are no rules.  It isn't like other art.  If you can hold a pen, you can create tangles.  Every tile is made up of three things.

1.  Tile - a tile is a square (3.5 x 3.5) or circle that you apply the patterns on.

2.  String - the string is the line that divide the tile into smaller pieces to be filled with patterns.
It is random how you draw your string.

3.  Repeating patterns - the patterns fill the spaces created by drawing a "string".  There are hundreds of patterns to draw (with step-by-step instructions) and we encourage you to make up new tangles.  Example:

Remember there are no rules !!!
