Hello Diva Challenge #174 - Superimposing Strings - place a string on top of another string.
Patterns: Itsy twisty, Hollibaugh, Paizel, N'zepple, Onomato, Printemps, Flux, Buttercup, Chainlea.
That was a lot of patterns on one tile for me.
Looks stuffy (maybe should of used an apprentice tile 4.5 x 4.5?)
What it reminds me of is San Diego, California commuter traffic. Congested !!!
San Diego is starting to look like Los Angeles, California traffic - the worse I've seen.
The best part is... it is my day off and I'm HAPPY.

I had the same fear = tangle overload :) I think yours works very nicely because you left a lot of white in the center to balance out the tangles.
ReplyDeletevery nice and yes agree with Jean
ReplyDeleteThe pink highlight really makes it ping off the page.
ReplyDeleteEvery TIA is WONDERFUL... never ever dislike what you create... just learn from it and move on...Every tangle to me is past of me... so I love it... Life is like that too... but this is WONDERFUL... and very nicely created and even has COLOR... I am into color really big since last week...I love this .... I also have found that sometimes a larger piece of paper allows me to explore life a little bit larger... LOL... have fun and enjoy... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
ReplyDeleteI think everyones fear, for overloading, but I see you managed to do it great. By just using same patterns in different spaces, so that the overload is not an issue at al in your piece. And I love the little touch of color, the same as the flowers in the background of your picture. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteLove how the pink pattern brings it all together. Nicely done -- and not too congested.
ReplyDeleteNice Tile, Janet. The small size of the picture gave my old eyes a workout, but what I could see was very nice. I liked the wide bands you used to separated String Zones. Many of your patterns are my favorites. Great Job.

ReplyDeleteVery nice! A lot of patterns, but nicely balanced!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, well done.
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate it when folks list the tangles they use. I'm new to Zentangle, so it really helps. There are so many pretty patterns to learn. I love your choices and the use of white space.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile! Wonderful your arrangement of the tangles! Also I like the the touch of pink colour!
ReplyDeleteNice use of negative space and variety of tangles. The touch of color helps set things off and not make this look busy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jean too and also that the pink really pulls it together ... I had the same concern :) Nice job!!

A gorgeous tile! If it reminds you of traffic... then that is pretty lovely traffic! San Diego is a beautiful place to be, traffic or not! I am sure you enjoyed your day off! I love how you posed the tile with the geraniums.
