T-K Reindeer Puppet

 My four-year-old grandson, Bryce, goes to Pepper Drive Elementary School and is in T-K.  I help out in class every Thursday. For the holidays, I brought a fun hand puppet reindeer class to add to the Christmas fun.  The kids loved it.  

Zentangle @ Kensingting Library

 Since the epidemic, I returned to Kensington Library in Hillcrest. San Diego, Cali.  The class was a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) creating some gift tags for the holidays.  New and familiar faces from the past classes was exciting.  

Next class, January 18th, for Hot Air Balloon ZIA class. Call to register only 10 seats.

Zentangle at Santee Library

 

After hours craft day at Santee Library, 9/19/24, a quaint library nestled in strip mall in Santee, California. 

 Fifteen wide-eyed participants came to see what Zentangle is all about.  Zentangle Method is a meditative art method that takes the hard out of art and creates beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.  During the process you relax and focus, getting into a state of well-being - healing art.

My class was version of a Mandala (in the round) representing the universe and the co-founders created a hybrid - Zendala.  

Our tangles for the class were Betweed (byZentangle), Rainking (by Leona Shih), Florz (by Zentangle), and, Knightsbridge (by Zentangle).  We completed our project with a free style heart and added aura to each side.

Zentangle is so amazing.  Each artist received the same information on how to draw the tangle (that's what we call the patterns), yet because we are all unique, the results show their individual technique on their tile.

This tile was an adorable little girl (her Mom and older sister came in after class started and I didn't get to ask her age), I'm thinking under 5, and did a great job creating her own tile.

Lakeside Library Zentangle

It's been since the pandemic that I had taught a classroom of interested students.  I had been restricted to Zoom and private classes.  

After teaching at the old library in a small, tiny area in main library, it was quite nice to have a community room to spread out and share the Zentangle method.  My first visit to this beautiful new library since they remodeled - was so exciting.  

Private Zentangle Class in Del Mar Cali

 You can't say it doesn't rain in Southern California.  It's an unusual rainy day.  Gloomy and early,  I head off to my 8am private class at Tina's in Del Mar.  I love the one-on-one classes to share an Introduction to Zentangle class.  I always wait for the ah ha moment when they see it - the magic of Zentangle.  

Basic Zentangle is learning about the string, tangles, and shading, and the meditative feeling while tangling.  Our tangles today were Flux, Printemps, Crescent Moon, Hollibaugh with some Tipple, and Poke Root.

A fun side note:  Tina had an African Gray Parrot in the other room.  She was very focal during our class and I couldn't stop to laugh at the constant jabboring. So cute.
