Introduction Zentangle Class

Zentangle is a meditative art method that creates beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.  During the process you relax and focus to get into your "happy" place.

Of all my Zentangle classes I teach, I think my favorite class is an introduction class to The Zentangle Method.  Love the "ah ha" moment when each participant see's the simplicity of this well thought out art method that was designed to take the "hard" out of art.

Sally contacted me to see when my next Zentangle class at the library was going to be.  Unfortunately, the libraries have put a hold on funds for classes.  I told Sally she could have a private class and she happily agreed. I suggested that Zentangle is more fun with a friend, so she invited Linda, her sister-in-law, to join us.

What a beautiful home in La Jolla, and two hours spent with two very nice ladies.

The class was a simple basic beginner introduction class.  If you haven't enjoyed a basic Zentangle class with a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), you might want to get the basic under your belt so you can continue on to the many ways to use this method.

Using the 3.5 tile from their mini kit, we created a four-tangle basic abstract tile, using our "string" and adding the tangles:  Ambler, Zander, Tipple, and 'nzepple.

Good job girls.

They were very interested how to apply the tangles to another piece, so I brought my tortoise outline, and we applied the tangles we learned and "wha-la", we brought life to the tortoise with the tangles.

Sally emailed me after the class with some tangles she did!  So impressed with her art pieces.
There is no stopping her now.  She has the bug to learn more tangles.
You too can look up more tangles on      tanglepatterns.com
and get all the info on Zentangle patterns, books, strings, knowledge, etc.

We were even able to talk a little about image consultant and hair color thanks to her daughter drifting into the room.  Great way to spend a Friday afternoon with new friends.
