Solana Beach Library Finds Zentangle

Today's class was at a new library for me to teach at.  Because not many people have heard of Zentangle, the class is few at the beginning, until the word gets out. ZENTANGLE IS SO MUCH FUN AND EASY TO DO.  Zentangle is a fresh, new unique art method that was design for those intimidated by art.  Even seasoned artist find a place to add a touch of Zentangle to their media.

                                                       NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

At Solana Beach Library in San Diego, California, four lucky folks joined me and began their Zentangle journey.  Basic or Introduction class is how you begin. Creating a original Zentangle tile, with five tangles (that is what we call the patterns):  Zander, Ambler, Tipple, Florz, and Barberpole.

After creating our first Zentangle tile, we started a second tile (that is what we call the paper), and applied those tangles we learned and created a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) Tortoise.

Welcome ladies to the Zentangle Method.  Good job.

Oasis Has Lots of Heart

Just because Valentine's Day has past, I consider the whole month "heart" month.  This is a special month to me not only because of Valentine's Day but my first grandchild was just born 2/8/20 and my wedding anniversary is 2/17.  A lot of heart goes along with this month.  That is why I decided to teach a Zentangle Heart Collage Greeting Card class today at Oasis - Grossmont in San Diego.

Eighteen lovely ladies joined me to create a beautiful heart felt art piece.

We had a good time today!

If you haven't tried Zentangle because you don't think you are an artist --- Zentangle was design for those intimidated by art.  So simple - all you need is pen, paper and patterns. (PPP)  Ages 6-seniors can complete this art method.  Go on, come to one of my classes and see for yourself.
                                                  Zero experience necessary
Zentangle is a secret gem.  You don't get "it", till you do "it".

Kensington/Normal Heights Library Duo Tangles Fun

This was me driving to teach my Zentangle class this morning at Kensington/Normal Heights Library.  You can't say it never rains in Southern California.  My windshield wipers could not go fast enough and I couldn't see any tires of the cars on the freeway because of the water spray off. my husband said as I was leaving home it started thunder and lightning and the power went out. That was an intense drive to work, but well worth the effort.

I was lucky 15 folks still came to class - wet and ready to learn about the Zentangle Method at this quaint little library.   Thank goodness the library power had not gone out.

Romi Marks, CZT @ Tangled Yogi, was kind enough to let me teach one of her tiles to my class at Kensington/Normal Heights Library today.

With time limited, we created the tile on two toned paper with a black pen and embellished with a white Gelly Roll pen.  We didn't have time to apply color.  With the Zentangle Method we are lucky that the patterns speak for themselves.  No need for color.

Zentangle Pencil Holder

There is no end to where  and what media you can apply Zentangle patterns  Today at North Clairemont Library in San Diego, California, we created a place to hold our pencils & things using tangles (that's what we call the patterns).

First we created some tangles on our template, colored if chose to and glued onto our container to hold pencils.

Tangles used for today's project were:
Jetties, Cruffle.Eylet & Ribbon, Florz, Showgirl, Cubine, Bales

Use colored paper or white and color yourself, or leave black and white.
The Zentangle Method will enhance any art project.

Join in my monthly classes at this quaint library.  Check my blog calendar for dates and class.  Each class teaches different techniques and tangles.

Crest Library finds Valentine's

During February, it is never hard to find a reason to create Zentangle Valentine's.  From San Diego Cardiff-by-the-Sea North County Library, to the little town of Crest Library in East County, there is plenty of LOVE to go around San Diego to share the Zentangle Method.

Eight eager kids, men and women joined me and learned what this new, fresh art method is all about.  Using the Zentangle Method, we created a beautiful Valentine to give to a loved one this year.

Check my calendar on blog page to see where my next class is so you can start your Zentangle journey.  You won't be disappointed.  All my classes offer different techniques and designed to create beautiful images of art.
