Tierrasanta Library Is Back in Business

Lots of Fall leaves in San Diego - well, not really - we don't get much "color".  We have to create color here.

The new, beautiful Tierrasanta Library is back in business after a year closed for remodel.  We brought out the season's Fall Ombre Leaf Zentangle Class.  Eleven eager, young and young at heart participants began their Zentangle journey with me today.

Typically Zentangle is black and white.  However, adding a hint of color changes the look.  We left white space in a leaf shape then colored with a layered effect for an ombre look.

Zentangle classes are more fun with a friend.  One student brought her friend visiting from India.

There are no erasers, no rulers, no mistakes in Zentangle. We used watercolor pencils to color the leaf.  Judy was using a water brush to blend the leaf colors and the water got away from her and made a blob on her tile (that's what we call the paper).  I said remember no mistakes, and she blended the blob and whala…… it's the interesting one below with blue.
