Relaxed and Calm at Rancho Penasquitos Library

What a pretty library. Three years ago, I taught a demonstration of The Zentangle Method at the HOW-TO-FESTIAL at Rancho Penasquitas Library.  Today was the libraries first Introduction to Zentangle class.  All ages, 26 folks (including 2 men) joined me in learning how to draw a basic Zentangle tile.

Typically, I play Hawaiian, slack key, quiet instrumental music during class.  With St. Patrick's day just a day away, I choose to play Celtic music today.  A week ago, I taught a  St. Patty's theme tile, and a student shared with me that the proper way to say Celtic, is "Keltic".  You learn something everyday.

Below, is the "gee whiz" factor when they get to look at everyone's "tile".
Wow, look at how different the same instruction can look.

This picture below, is the "ah ha" moment after you complete one class from a
certified Zentangle teacher.  You don't get "it" till you do "it".
When will you begin your Zentangle journey?

The San Diego city libraries will have the HOW-T0-FESTIVAL on May 18th, 2019.
The festival let's volunteers share something of interest with the patrons throughout
the day at each library.
(i.e., how to train your dog, knitting, lectures, how to arrange flowers,
computer coding, origami, cook dog cookies, each library is different -
even Zentangle.   I will be at Mira Mesa Library demonstrating a bookmark)

Check the link below for a library close to you and see what is happening all day long at a branch near you.           https://www.sandiego.gov/blog/how-festival-library

P. S. If you have a topic/passion/interest to share/teach - sign up and volunteer.
