San Ysidro Finds Zentangle

I headed towards the border today.  Well not quite, but close.  I shared the Zentangle Method at the San Ysidro quaint little library.  The San Ysidro Library is one of oldest libraries in San Diego still in operation.  This library has been around since 1924 and doesn't meet the need of their growing community. So......San Ysidro will be getting a new library is planned to open in hopefully September, 2019.  The old library will be a historical site. I feel lucky to have been able to teach a class in this relic.

On the eve of 4th of July, several kids and parents joined me to start their Zentangle journey.
Even Lilly, the youth librarian, was able to join in.  No matter what Zentangle class I'm teaching, whether to kids or adults, you can learn some new tangles (that's what we call the patterns).

This little girls face was priceless when she finished.

Zentangle isn't just for kids - check out my class schedule to a class for you.

Aside from offering an almost unlimited supply of movies (dvds), there is also music cd's, both classic and contemporary, computers, wifi, children's programs, book clubs, and pretty much whatever the community could use. Depending on the facility, there may also be movies, classes, workshops, and meeting space for local groups. The best part is, if the branch does not have what you are looking for they can get it for you by borrowing from the Central or any of the other branches, so you bascially have the entire library system at your disposal. And what's even better is the price: free.  LIBRARIES ARE AWESOME.

  1. Thank you, Janet! The handful of us really enjoyed learning to tangle and I can't wait to have you back again to share this method with even more of our patrons :)
