Flutterbies at North Clairemont Library

Typically Zentangle tiles are black and white.  Today, at North Clairemont Library, in San Diego, So Cal, we stepped out of the basic and added color to our flutterby.  Eleven ladies joined me, Janet Masey, Certified Zentangle Teacher, to learn some new patterns, and bring color to our beautiful butterfly's.

Retiring last year as a hairdresser after 44 years, ombre haircolor was a salon favorite.

I brought the ombre color idea to our art piece.  Starting with our darkest color, layering several descending colors towards the lightest, blending as we progressed across our art piece.

We had four newbies to Zentangle today.  Pia, former student, brought two friends to class to see what all the talk was about.  Zentangle is always more fun with friends.  Which friend will you share Zentangle with?

I liked the way one of the newbies held her watercolor pencils and pen.  You don't have to keep picking up and putting down the pens/pencils as you work thru colors. Great idea.  The Claw technique.
