Tortoise vs Central Downtown Library

Once again, I was asked to teach a Zentangle class to the teens at San Diego Central Downtown Library.  This seven story wonder is such a treat to visit. If you haven't already, make a date with a friend and go check it out.

Stopping at the gift store before class, I noticed they had entire table of "where's Waldo" books for sale. My youngest granddaught LOVES Waldo. The friendly staff told me that during the month of July, 36 city libraries will have Waldo hiding inside each library. If you find him, you will receive that branch's exclusive button.  Collect all 36  designs to win prizes.  Be on the look out for the one-of-a-kind GOLD button to unlock super-secret deals & prizes,.  Visit all the city libraries and "look for Waldo".

If you don't have one already, sign up for a library card and receive a passport to collect stickers and a lanyard to hold pens you collect.  Collect all 36, receive prizes, and get your name in to win the big prize.

Class today was to create a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) and create a tortoise using the
Zentangle Method.  Alexis, library assistant, had no idea what Zentangle was before class today.
You don't get "it", till you do 'it".
It is magical how easy the co-founders designed the art method to take the hard out of art.  Alexis was pleasantly surprise at the results of her art piece today.   Zentangle looks complicated and intricate yet easy enough for kids to complete.

Great job Alexis.  Thanks for joining me today.
